In our quest to master Italian, we recently turned to the “Pimsleur Italian Basic Course – Level 1 Lessons 1-10 CD.” From the moment we pressed play, we were drawn in by its immersive audio format, which felt less like a lesson and more like an engaging conversation. We appreciated how each lesson built on the last, gradually reinforcing vocabulary and pronunciation through repetition and recall. The focus on listening and speaking made us feel like we were having real-life interactions, preparing us for future travels to Italy. Although we missed the visual aids that accompany many modern methods, the simplicity of the CDs allowed us to learn on the go-whether during commutes or while cooking dinner. Overall, this course serves as a solid foundation for anyone serious about picking up Italian in a practical and straightforward manner.
