2009 American Gold Buffalo Coins

The number of options for the 2009 Gold Buffalo were reduced from the prior year. The United States Mint discontinued the collectible uncirculated versions of the coins and the fractional proof versions of the coins.

Only two versions of the 2009 American Gold Buffalo were offered. These were the one ounce bullion version and the one ounce proof version. The bullion version of the coin sold out of the entire production of 200,000 coins after about two months. The proof version was only available for a few months before the entire mintage of 50,000 coins sold out.
